Everything you need to know
If your GP has referred you under a Medicare GP Care Plan (formerly an EPC or Chronic Disease Management Plan), you may be eligible for a Medicare rebate towards your podiatry treatment. We've answered the most common questions below.
A GP Care Plan is designed to help people living with chronic or complex medical conditions access allied health services, including podiatry. Your eligibility is determined entirely by your GP.
If approved, your GP may refer you for up to five Medicare-funded allied health appointments each calendar year. These visits may be shared between different allied health professionals — so if you use three visits with a physiotherapist, you may have two remaining for podiatry.

Your GP will determine whether you meet the Medicare criteria. Common conditions include:
Undefeeted Podiatry is not a bulk billing clinic. Medicare contributes towards the cost of your consultation with a rebate, and you simply pay the remaining gap. The rebate is designed as a contribution towards allied health care, not to cover the full cost of comprehensive podiatry treatment. We choose not to reduce appointment times or limit your care simply to meet the rebate. Instead we focus on longer consultations, comprehensive assessments, advanced technology such as gait analysis, and individualised treatment plans tailored to your goals.
The current Medicare rebate is $63.40 per visit, generally deposited into your bank account within 24 hours. You'll pay for your consultation at the end of your appointment, and our reception team processes your Medicare claim electronically before you leave, so most patients receive their rebate within one business day.
Your GP referral allows for up to five Medicare-funded visits per calendar year. If you're unsure how many visits you have remaining, or what your out-of-pocket cost will be, just give us a call before your appointment and we'll happily talk you through it.
