GaitScan is a digital assessment tool that helps us understand how your feet function when you walk. It measures pressure, timing, and movement patterns across the feet, giving your podiatrist useful information about your gait and foot mechanics.
Why Gait Matters
The way your feet move can affect more than just your feet. Poor foot mechanics may contribute to discomfort in the heels, arches, ankles, knees, hips, or lower back.
A GaitScan assessment helps identify areas of high pressure, imbalance, or abnormal loading that may be contributing to pain or injury.
What GaitScan Can Help Assess
GaitScan may assist with:
Heel pain
Arch pain
Flat feet
Overpronation
Sports injuries
Knee or lower limb discomfort
Balance and loading issues
Orthotic prescription
Footwear recommendations
How It Works
During the assessment, you walk across a pressure plate while the system records how your feet contact the ground. The scan creates visual data that helps your podiatrist assess pressure distribution and movement patterns.
This information is combined with your clinical assessment, symptoms, footwear, and activity history.
