Everything you need to know. If your GP has referred you under a Medicare GP Care Plan (formerly an EPC or Chronic Disease Management Plan), you may be eligible for a Medicare rebate towards your podiatry treatment — we've answered the most common questions below.
A GP Care Plan is designed to help people living with chronic or complex medical conditions access allied health services, including podiatry. Your eligibility is determined entirely by your GP.
If approved, your GP may refer you for up to five Medicare-funded allied health appointments each calendar year. These visits may be shared between different allied health professionals — so if you use three visits with a physiotherapist, you may have two remaining for podiatry.
