Foot Pain Isn't Something to Push Through

Your feet carry you through every part of your day. When something's wrong, they'll usually tell you — and it's always worth listening.

Did You Know?

Your foot is a 26-bone balancing act

Your foot is made up of 26 bones that form two crossing arches, along with joints, ligaments, muscles and tendons, nerves, blood vessels, skin and other soft tissue.

A problem in any one of these structures can cause pain — so when you feel discomfort, that's your foot telling you something is wrong. How and when it happens can help us determine both the cause and the severity of the condition.

26 Bones in Every Foot

Forming two crossing arches that carry your entire body weight, step after step.

Getting to the Cause

How we assess foot pain

When discomfort starts interfering with your normal activities, it's time to seek advice. We conduct a series of physical and visual assessments, including:

  • Weight-bearing foot posture
  • Dynamic gait assessment
  • Functional testing
  • Non-weight-bearing assessment
  • Footwear assessment

If further investigation is required, we refer you for an X-ray, MRI or bone scan.
